Messy Church takes place in Sampford Peverell Village Hall at 9.30am on the 4th Sunday of most months and is jointly run by St John's and the Methodist Church. It comprises breakfast, craft activities, Bible stories and prayers and is open to all families and friends in the Sampford Peverell neighbourhood.
On Christmas Eve we have a 'Christmas Experience' in Church organised by the Messy Church Team. It usually attracts about 150 people.
The church lies centrally in the village and has a mixture of church services, supported by a choir on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays and a band on the second Sunday and the lay-led service on the fourth Sunday.
Alongside the church services there is much going on. Our kitchen servery offers hospitality in the building hosting harvest lunches, charity breakfasts, and teas. There are also many social events organised throughout the year such as a Curry and Casserole supper, Harvest Lunch, concerts, the Village Fete and a coffee morning every second Thursday hosted by different people each month.
We look forward to meeting you, from all at St. John the Baptist's Church
